From the magazine: "This sleek satin gown is loaded with Hollywood glamour! It's cut on the bias and figure-fitted with diagonal seams accentuating the waist and hips. The swingy, bias-cut skirt section flows elegantly down to the floor. Beaded embroidery in lovely colours embellishes the plunging neckline" (I skipped the embroidery in my version, I used beaded trim instead).

Featured Burda sizes range from 34 to 42; I traced a 38 and I adjusted side seams to my figure. This pattern is rated easy to sew but time-consuming.
I made this dress last Mars, when I went to a friend's wedding. I also made a jacket to match this dress (review is coming up soon).
The fabric (golden satin) behaved quite well when submitted to heat and steam, but I did have problems interfacing the facings. Bubbles were formed and I had a bad time trying to get rid of them… Too bad the knitted thin fusible interfacing used on the Nara Camicie Blouse wasn’t available back then!
See the back and the side view (the dressform is lowered in the side view because it tends to lean forward when set to its maximum height...):

Instead of making the shoulder straps of golden satin, I used the trim to this purpose (trim is hand stitched to the dress); see the front shoulder strap detail in the next picture:
This is the side zipper; at the time I was lacking the special purpose invisible zipper foot, so I had to sew the zipper in by hand.
Here is the inside zipper detail. The lining is hand stitched to the zipper and there’s also a hook and eye to keep the zipper opening secured.
See the hand stitched rolled hem here (wrong side):
For your viewing pleasure, there are also pictures of the sandals and purse that I wore at the wedding:
This gown turned out great and I couldn't help myself feeling somehow like a princess when I was wearing it!
Fiquem bem!
Tomorrow (If I can manage some time), I'll review the jacket that completes this outfit (Jacket 112 from the same magazine)! Be well!

Absolutely exquisite!
Beautiful dress! And thank you for posting on your blog in both languages. Maybe by reading your blog I can pick up on another language.
I forgot to add that those shoes are to die for! Thanks for sharing.
Absolutamente delicioso!
