Mais um top, desta vez confeccionado em jersey de seda estampado fino em tons de branco, azul lazúli, cinza prateado e preto. A banda da frente foi feita em jersey preto. Podem ver a descrição do modelo aqui (site Burdamode).
Este top (também existe em versão sem mangas) vem com curso de costura ilustrado! Embora não seja um projecto para principiantes, quem já tem alguma experiência com malhas deve conseguir faze-lo sem dificuldade.
Segui as instruções adicionando aqui e ali a minha “colherada”. Por exemplo nesta malha bastante extensível não tive necessidade de colocar o fecho invisível de lado, como indicado (embora me tenha preparado para isso, entretelando os valores de costura com tiras de entretela cortadas ao comprido em entretela de malha fininha). No entanto tenho o hábito de alinhavar e experimentar as peças e resolvi alinhavar este top sem o fecho a ver se o conseguia vestir, e até se veste bem. Então descolei a entretela e cosi os lados por inteiro.
Outra coisa que fiz diferente foi prender a tira da frente por baixo da passadeira com um pesponto que fica escondido na dobra. A banda é cortada em viés e é mais estreita que a frente por um bom bocado, para depois ajustar bem por baixo do peito. Nesta malha escorregadia e fininha, a tira ia ficar engelhada e descer na passadeira. Este pesponto evita que isso aconteça:

Nas lançadeiras da corta e cose usei um fio especial, de nylon, que é fofo e extensível (muito comum no pronto-a-vestir, principalmente em roupa desportiva e de praia).
Conclusão: Mais um top que coordena com a facção (azul lazúli/prata/branco/preto) do guarda-roupa que quero fazer (desta palete já terminei a jaqueta cinza prata). Ainda estou à procura de um modelo de saia para fazer em tecido azul, a jaqueta da mesma cor já viram na minha lista de projectos. Para fazer em breve é o macacão da Burda Internacional com o tecido Buttermilk que a Summerset me ofereceu, também nestes tons.
O que se segue? Quero fazer ainda mais umas peças de jersey, uma vez que são mais rápidas e realmente estão a fazer-me falta, por isso aguardem novidades em breve! Para saberem o que está a desarrumar a minha sala podem sempre consultar a minha lista de projectos!
Another cute top, this time made of thin white/lazuli blue/silver/black silky jersey. The front band was made with black thin jersey. You can see the original model’s description here (Burdamode website).
This top (there’s also a sleeveless version) is featured with illustrated instructions! In spite of not being the ideal project for beginners, anyone with some experience with knits (if knits are used; I recommend knits because this model is close fitting, mainly on the sleeves) can make it without much difficulty.
I followed the instructions adding a little something here and there… For example there was no need of setting a side zipper with this stretchy knit, as indicated in the instructions. I have the habit of basting everything up and trying the basted garment on my body before proceeding with the construction and I decided to baste the side seams with no zipper and guess what, I could put it on quite easily! So no side zipper, though I was fairly prepared for inserting it (I interfaced the SAs on the “not meant to be” side opening using on-grain stripes of thin knit interfacing and then peeled them off because I didn’t need them after all):
Another thing that I made differently was tacking the horizontal band to the top and band carrier. The horizontal band is cut on the bias and it’s narrower than the front (it’s made for adjusting to the body, so it stretches and hugs the front). With my thin and slippery knit, this band would easily fall out of place so that’s why I sewed a row of stitches under the belt carrier’s vertical fold, so they stay hidden.
I used the serger for finishing the hem allowances and the sewing machine for topstitching the hem:

I used woolly nylon on the serger’s loopers (you should be used to see this type of thread on RTW, mainly sport clothes and beach wear)
Conclusion: Just another cute top which will coordinate with the lazuli blue/silver/white/black section of my spring/summer list (from this section I have completed the silver grey jacket already, still have to make the Burda International cat suit and the BWOF blue jacket and I’m also hunting for a skirt model to be made from the same lazuli blue fabric that I’ll be using for the jacket – IF I don’t change my mind in the meanwhile, of course)
So what’s up next? Well, I’m really into jerseys right now do you may see some more jersey projects soon. They are fairly quick to make and I really need a few more knit tops and dresses. You can always check on my spring/summer list to find out about my current project ;)
