Descrição (do sítio www.burdafashion.com): O Jersey costuma ser sinónimo de fácil e casual – como ilustrado por este vestido longo, com decote “halter” (se alguém souber a palavra em Português para este tipo de decote, diga). As costas são cruzadas de forma solta e o vestido é cingido por umas tiras na cintura.
Antes de fazer este vestido, fiz a versão top 124A e reparei que o decote nas costas ficava bastante cavado; não há problema quando usar este vestido para ir à praia com o bikini por baixo, mas se o quiser usar em outra situação, usar um soutien ia ser complicado. Por isso resolvi fazer uma “banda” com o tecido que sobrou (basicamente é um tubo de tecido com elástico em cima e em baixo). Com a banda nem preciso de usar soutien, pois já fornece algum suporte. Abaixo podem ver a banda e o top, e para o vestido fiz exactamente o mesmo:
Outra coisa que reparei, é que as orlas cruzadas atrás (que são terminadas com a corta-e-cose, viradas para o avesso e pespontadas) têm alguma tendência a virar e expor o remate… Então na versão vestido resolvi passar um elástico fininho por dentro da costura ao longo da orla, tal como fiz no top assimétrico DKNY, o que resolveu o problema.
O colar (que também é um cinto) é uma criação da Alexandra Santos (podem ver uma foto do colar/cinto aqui). A Alexandra faz artesanato para vender, vão espreitar que tem coisas lindas!
Conclusão: Mais um vestido para a praia (nunca são demais, né?) numa cor que realça o bronzeado! Para quem não conhece, fica aqui uma foto da Praia da Vagueira, lugar onde vivo há cerca de 9 anos (encontrei a foto na Internet, não sei a quem devo dar o crédito por ela). A Vagueira fica entre o mar e a Ria de Aveiro, a 20 minutos de carro do centro de Aveiro onde trabalho.

Description (from www.burdafashion.com): Jersey fabric always looks uncomplicated and casual – as illustrated by this long dress with halter neck. The back is loosely wrapped and attached tie-bands shape the waist.
Before sewing this dress I made the top version 124A and I noticed how the back of the top was very low. This is ok if I’m wearing the dress to the beach with a bikini underneath, but wearing it with a strapless bra wouldn’t look good because the back closure would show. So, I decided to make some sort of a “band” that would provide some extra support and cover (I don’t need the bra if I wear the band). Basically the band is a tube of jersey with an elastic casing on the top and the bottom. For the dress I made another one using the turquoise jersey:
After wearing the top I also noticed that the back edges tent to curl out, exposing the serged wrong side; to avoid this on the dress I encased thin elastic on the edges, the same as I did for the DKNY asymmetric top and it seems to fix the problem.
The sunflower necklace (which also works as a belt) was made by Alexandra Santos (click here for a better picture of the necklace/belt). This crafty and talented lady makes beautiful things and sells them by request.
Conclusion: It’s another beach dress (they are never enough, right?) in a color that makes tanned skin stand out! For those of you who were curious about the place where I live, here’s a picture of Vagueira beach; I live there since the year of 2000; it’s a 20minute drive to the office in Aveiro along a very beautiful landscape because Vagueira beach is located between the Atlantic Ocean and a lake (Ria de Aveiro) and on my way to the office I get to drive along the shores of the lake.
