A primeira semana de férias está no fim e, como prometido, aqui está o balanço em termos de costura;
O top foi feito com o molde Vogue 2923, que além do top tem uma jaqueta e umas calças, ambas de DKNY (Donna Karan New York):
O tecido é um fabuloso cetim 100% seda natural, um dos tecidos que me foi oferecido pela Jules. Este top não poderia ser mais simples de executar, como dá para perceber.
Vista de lado:
Resolvi acrescentar um toque de requinte “vintage” a este top tão simples e lembrei-me de uma renda antiga que a Laura Popa me tinha enviado; achei que seria o ideal para embelezar as costas deste top:
A renda foi inteiramente cosida à mão com pontos invisíveis, podem ver o detalhe do lado do direito e do avesso, onde se notam os pontinhos que seguram a renda:
Conclusão: Adorei o efeito final e penso que a renda valorizou imenso o estilo simples do top; aliada ao tecido de seda natural, dá-lhe bastante requinte!
O top não foi a única coisa que completei durante esta semana; terminei um saco de fraldas para a Mónica (a condizer com a cobertura do fraldário que já lhe tinha feito):
O saco fez aproveitamento do tecido que tinha sobrado e é forrado. Dá para levar em viagem ou simplesmente para embelezar o quarto do bebé, ao lado do fraldário.
Finalmente, também fiz umas calças de linho para o meu namorado:
O modelo é da Burda 06/2000 e corresponde a umas calças descontraídas e práticas, com elástico e cordão na cintura, fecho com carcela na frente e bolsos na costura lateral:

As calças são ideias para o calor e para os passeios que costumamos fazer na praia. Ele adorou!

My first vacation week is almost over and, as promised, here’s a status report sewing wise;
The model is Vogue 2923 (top), that also features a lovely jacket and trousers, all by DKNY:
The fabric is a fabulous 100% natural silk satin, one of the fabrics received as a gift from Jules. This top couldn’t be easier to execute, as you can see from the pictures.
The side view:
I decided to add a touch of vintage couture to this simple top and I remembered a vintage lace that Laura Popa sent me as a gift some time ago; I thought this would be ideal for embellishing the back of the top:
The ancient lace was entirely hand stitched to the back of the top with tiny stitches; you can observe a close-up from the right side and the wrong side, where the tiny stitches can be viewed:
Conclusion: I love this top and I believe Laura’s lace really enhanced its simple style lines adding personality to it. Together with the silk satin, this makes for a very refined top!
The top wasn’t my only accomplishment during the week; I also finished a diaper bag for Monica (it matches the cover for her future baby’s room, which I also made for her):
The bag made use of the fabric remnants from the cover and it’s lined in yellow. She can use it to carry the diapers while traveling and/or to keep them stored in the baby’s room, next to the matching cover.
Finally I also made some lining pants for my boyfriend:
This model came from the 06/2000 BWOF and it corresponds to loose fitting pants with elasticized waist with an interior tying cord, front fly-zipper and side in-seam pockets:
A few more details:
These pants are ideal for our long walks by the local beach and he is very happy with them!
Well, next up I have to catch up on blogland and see what you all have been up to! I also started tracing the pattern for my next project (refer to my spring/summer project list to know which my current project is, but there's a clue in the last couple of pictures!) and I am pretty excited about it!
