Enquanto esperam pelas fotos do conjunto “Extravagância Cor-de-laranja” (já tenho algumas fotos prontas mas quero tirar mais; a verdade é que tenho estado adoentada e sem grande tempo para o blogue), vou mostrar-vos um top que fiz ainda no ano passado; aqui estou a usá-lo com as calças do conjunto:

O modelo comprei-o aqui (http://www.sweaterbabe.com) e só tenho a reportar uma boa experiência com este modelo e com o serviço a clientes da SweaterBabe. O modelo traz instruções para o modelo de manga curta e de manga comprida.

Fio utilizado: Rosários 4 Dinastia em cor mesclada beije acastanhado (7 novelos de 100g)
Agulhas: circulares de 7mm (US10.5?)

Esta sweater é tricotada de cima para baixo (começa-se pela gola), com agulhas circulares, e o resultado é a ausência de costuras a não ser uma pequena porção debaixo da manga. Outro aspecto que gostei bastante é a forma cintada conseguida através de diminuições e aumentos, em forma de pinça.



O detalhe do ponto torcido da gola e da renda no meio da frente dão a esta sweater um toque muito moderno e original:

While awaiting for the promised Orange Extravaganza photo shoot (I have a few photos but I need to take some more; the truth is that I haven’t been feeling very well during this week and I had no time for my blogging/sewing activities), I will show you a sweater that I’ve made back in 2008 but had no time to write about it until now (I’m wearing it with the Orange Extravaganza pants):

bought the model here (http://www.sweaterbabe.com) and had a great experience both with this pattern and the SweaterBabe Customer Service. The purchased model offers instructions on both long and short sleeve versions (I made the short-sleeve version).

Yarn used: Rosarios4 Dinastia (brown/beige colorway), 7 x 100g skeins
Needles: circular US10-11 (7mm)

This sweater is knitted from the top down and the end result is the absence of seams except for a little portion on the underarm. Another detail that I was quite fond of was the subtle waist shaping: the decreases/increases actually create a dart effect, just like a fitted dress.



The wide cabled collar and the front lace pattern are really beautiful:

Capecho da Vogue - Vogue’s Capecho

Este modelo saiu na capa da revista VogueKnitting Inverno06/07 e foi um grande sucesso nessa altura.

A minha versão é ligeiramente diferente pois acrescentei meio pentágono debaixo dos braços (o modelo é todo feito à base de rosetas em forma de pentágono). Tricotei o tamanho mais pequeno com agulhas 5.5mm e 8 novelos de 100g de Rosarios 4 Cordatta Print. Adorei o efeito final e estou a planear fazê-lo outra vez em branco sujo. Como é óbvio, este modelo tem direitos de autor e não posso divulgar a receita, mas podem adquiri-la aqui.

I think for most of you this model doesn’t need introducing; it’s from Vogue Knitting Winter06/07 and was a huge hit when the magazine came out.

My version is slightly modified because I added half a pentagon under the sleeves (it felt like something was missing there). I knitted the smallest size using US9 needles and 8 skeins (100g each) of Rosarios 4 Cordatta Print. I really love how it came out and I plan on knitting this model again using off-white yarn. This model is now available for sale here.

Snow Drift Cardigan - Jaqueta "Brisa de Neve"

Do livro “Inspired to Knit” de Michele Rose Orne retirei o modelo para esta jaqueta muito original (o livro pode ser adquirido no Amazon e, por respeito ao trabalho da autora que pagou direitos de autor, não vou partilhar o modelo). Recomendo vivamente este livro, que não só contém modelos lindíssimos, mas educa os seus leitores a criar os seus próprios modelos inspirando-se em tudo que os rodeia e com recurso a compilações de elementos inspiracionais e paletes de cores, neste caso ordenados por estação do ano. Confesso que depois de alguns meses sem fazer tricô, foi este livro que me trouxe a inspiração de volta!

Fiz uma modificação ao modelo: em vez de aplicar um fecho de correr na frente (zíper), resolvi costurar uma barra de canelado em cada lado e aplicar botões de madeira. Também aumentei um pouco o comprimento da manga.

O ponto de torcidos da gola e dos punhos é muito original: trata-se de um canelado torcido, que tem malhas caídas na parte de liga do canelado (é claro que para cada malha caída se acrescenta em cima uma laçada). Fiquei com vontade de aplicar este ponto, por exemplo, a um casaco comprido: gola, punhos e barra de bainha.


O fio que utilizei foi comprado numa promoção do Lidl (100% acrílico, vinha com agulhas circulares de 8mm, embora para a jaqueta tenha usado agulhas de 6mm). Creio que utilizei 1200g para esta jaqueta (cada pacote tinha 6 novelos de 100 gramas).

Conclusão: ADORO esta jaqueta! A forma subtil como se ajusta na cintura, a originalidade do ponto torcido e a cor marfim do fio são elementos que me agradam bastante.

Tenho em mente outro conjunto, a que penso chamar “Baunilha e Chocolate”, ao qual esta jaqueta, a bolsa Dublin e também o colar de concha em forma de lágrima vão pertencer, além de outros projectos que a seu tempo revelarei ;). Parece que vou passar as férias de Natal ocupadíssima… Hehehe

The model for this jacket came from the book “Inspired to Knit” by Michele Rose Orne (you can buy this book on Amazon). I highly recommend this book and I must say that after a long period lacking my knitting mojo and inspiration, this book really turned things around for me! Not only it features beautiful and well thought out models, it teaches how to pursue inspiration by observing our surroundings, working with different themes and color schemes put together in inspirational storyboards.

I altered the model slightly: instead of the front zipper closure I added a placket and some vintage wood buttons. I also lengthened the sleeves a bit.
The cable pattern for the cuffs and collar is very original; it’s some kind of twisted ribbing where from time to time a stitch is dropped and added to add that puffy final effect. I was inspired to try this stitch again on a different project, perhaps a coat with a collar, cuffs and hem band knitted this way.


The yarn used was bought under a promotion at a big warehouse. It’s 100% acrylic and I bought two packages, each carrying 6 x 100g skeins and a pair of 8mm circular needles (for this project I used smaller needles: 6mm or US 10)

Conclusion: I LOVE this jacket! The subtle shaping of the waist, the originality of the cable stitch and the ivory color are all elements that appeal to me.

I have another set of garments planned out (among others!) which is to be called “Vanilla and Chocolate”; this jacket, the shell necklace and the Dublin bag belong this set, along with a few more sewing projects that will follow. It looks like my Christmas vacation will be quite a busy time! LOL!

Colete com gola de rebuço - Shawl Collar vest

O modelo de tricô do meu conjunto “Extravagancia cor-de-laranja” é da autoria da Amanda Berka encontra-se para download grátis aqui.

Descrição: Bolero confeccionado a partir de um rectângulo de tricô (ver esquema na página do modelo original), tem gola de rebuço tricotada em canelado 2/2 que contorna todo o modelo (pescoço e costas). O corpo do bolero é confeccionado em ponto fantasia.

Material: 7 novelos (50g) de lã Gedifra Riana cor-de-laranja

Modificações: Acrescentei mangas apanhando as malhas ao longo da cava e tricotando 8cm em canelado 2/2.

Conclusão: Fiquei muito satisfeita com este bolero simples, que tanto pode ser usado com um alfinete a apertar como solto. Gostei especialmente do efeito criado ao adicionar as mangas, que lhe dão um ar mais contemporâneo. Fica bem com as calças e a saia do conjunto, mas pode ser usado noutras combinações (por exemplo, usei-o já com umas calças de cintura alta pretas e um top justo de gola alta também preto).

My “Orange Extravaganza” knitted garment is a pattern by Amanda Berka and can be found online here (free download).

Description: This vest is made in one piece – a rectangle – beginning with the collar and working down to the ribbed bottom border (see diagram in the original model pdf file).

Material: 7 skeins (50g) of Gedifra Riana yarn in orange

Modifications: I added short sleeves, by picking up the stitches around the armhole and knitting on the round (2/2 ribbing) for approximately 3 inches.

Conclusion: I am very happy with this easy vest, which can be worn not only with both my Orange Extravaganza pants and skirt but also with other color combinations (for example, a few days ago I wore it with black high-waist pants and a black turtleneck for a dinner out). I like the added sleeves; I think they provide this simple piece with a more contemporary look.
