Na semana passada estive de férias (acabei por ficar em casa a maior parte do tempo - daí tanta produtividade!) e não estive sempre ocupada a costurar; acabei também este top (já o tinha começado em Março):

Do livro “Runway Knits” de Berta Karapetyan:
O modelo Leaf Paneled Sweater:
Material: Para o tamanho M utilizei 3 novelos de 50g/160m de Rosários4 Carícia (85%acrílico 15% poliamida) na cor 08 (verde menta claro). Utilizei agulhas circulares de 4mm (US6) e um alfinete de descanso de malhas.
O que evidencia este modelo é o motivo rendado em forma de “folha” que se repete no centro da frente, costas e lados.
As diminuições são feitas ao lado do motivo, que se apresenta sempre contínuo até terminar na gola subida. Feito com este fio, o top toma uma forma justa e não precisa de ser “blocado”. A minha versão é ligeiramente mais curta que o original.
Crítica: O modelo está bem desenhado e os procedimentos estão claramente explicados (o livro está escrito em Inglês). Em vez de um gráfico para o padrão, são fornecidas instruções por extenso (pessoalmente prefiro os gráficos). Uma coisa que não faz sentido é que só a gola é tricotada em redondo, com agulhas circulares; na minha opinião o top podia ser tricotado em redondo com agulhas circulares até às cavas, separadamente até à gola e depois de novo circular na gola (apenas é preciso tomar em atenção que quando o trabalho é tricotado em redondo as malhas do avesso do padrão deixam de ser tricotadas em liga e passam a ser tricotadas em meia). É um modelo que não se pode chamar de “fácil” ou “para principiante” por causa do padrão rendado, mas para uma tricotadeira intermédia não oferece dificuldade.
O livro “Runaway Knits” (Tricô da Passarela) tem modelos muito bonitos e com graus de dificuldade variados, e recomendo este livro, que pode ser comprado no Amazon.com ou nos equivalentes europeus (Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de ou Amazon.fr).
Conclusão: Um top bonito ideal para as noites de verão que podem ser um pouco frescas por aqui (à beira-mar).
Já voltei ao trabalho, por isso tenho pouco tempo durante a semana… Vou tentar visitar a minha lista de blogs mal possa. Fiquem bem!

Last week I also knitted (I took the week off from work and ended up staying at home; on top of that the weather was mostly rainy and that’s the main reason why I was so prolific). I started this top in early March:

The model is called Leaf-Paneled Sweater:
Materials: For the size M I used 3 skeins of Rosarios4 Caricia (85%acrylic 15%polyamid); the color is light mint green. Needles: circular US6 (4mm). I also used a stitch holder.
The highlight on this model is in the leaf-paneled pattern in the center front, back and sides:
The decreases are made next to the leaf-paneled pattern so it stays continuous from the bottom hem up to the turtle-neck collar. This yarn (it’s a well known Portuguese brand) is special purpose baby yarn and it doesn’t need blocking (it’s mainly acrylic). My version is a tad shorter than the original
Review: The pattern is well explained and I didn’t find any mistakes in it. The leaf-paneled pattern is explained without the help of a graphic, just written directions (I prefer having a graphic to follow the pattern). One thing that doesn’t make much sense to me is fact that the sweater is not knitted on the round from the bottom up to the armholes; the directions tell you to knit the front and back separately and then start knitting both on the round for the turtle-neck collar. The only thing to pay attention is: when knitting the leaf-panel pattern on the round, the WS rows become knit and not purl (because on the round you are always knitting the right side). I cannot say this is a project for beginners because of the lace pattern, but I think it will be easily accomplished by an intermediate knitter.
The “Runaway Knits” book includes beautiful models (including accessories) rated from beginner to advanced; I highly recommend this book if you like stylish knitted garments.
Conclusion: A beautiful and cozy top that will be most useful for the often chilly summer nights by the ocean.
