EN: First of all I’d like to thank for all the wonderful comments and cheering that I got (both here and on my personal style blog where I published the photos of me wearing the dress) for my previous sewing project, the pleated shoulder dress. It makes me very happy that I’m still able to dazzle and inspire some of you, and this is mainly what drives me to go on and keep sharing what I do. After making the dress I needed something more straight forward, and I thought of BCN Unique’s new pattern the Lehenga skirt. This simple and elegant design can be interpreted in many ways and I spent a few days thinking of all the options; finally I settled with this navy blue silk satin from my stash and I’m planning on splitting each skirt panel into three or four panels and play with the alternating both sides of the satin (glossy and dull). I haven’t decided on the final layout yet (alternating sides (I’d divide each panel into 4 instead of 3 in this case)? Glossy top and bottom panels and dull central panels? I also haven’t decided on the skirt length either.

PT: Em primeiro lugar quero agradecer todos os comentários e felicitações que recebi (tanto aqui como no meu blogue de estilo pessoal onde publiquei as fotos a usar o vestido), pelo meu projeto anterior, o vestido com um ombro pregueado. Fico feliz por ainda ser capaz de vos maravilhar e surpreender, e é esta a minha principal fonte de motivação para partilhar o que faço. Depois de terminar o vestido preciso de algo mais fácil e pensei no novo molde BCN Unique, a saia Lehenga. Este modelo simples e elegante pode ser interpretado de várias formas e demorei algum tempo a decidir como o queria fazer. Por fim decidi-me a usar este cetim azul-escuro, que já tenho há uns anos e, para ser diferente, jogar com os dois lados do tecido (brilhante e baço) dividindo cada painel da saia em 3 ou quatro partes. Uma das possibilidades é dividir em três e usar o lado brilhante nos de cima e nos de baixo; outra é dividir em 4 e alternar o brilhante e o baço. Também ainda tenho de decidir quanto ao comprimento da saia.
