Molde original: BurdaStyle de Agosto (nº3), modelo 102 (Fiz o modelo A, com o comprimento do B)
Descrição: Casaco de corte simples e clássico, fecha com um cinto de atar, tem bolsos metidos nas costuras e mangas 3/4, uma mistura de manga raglan na frente com quimono atrás – foi esta característica que mais me atraiu neste casaco.
Confecção: É bastante simples, a única dificuldade para as inexperientes é o canto na união da manga com a frente e a aplicação da gola, ambos assuntos que creio já ter abordado anteriormente:
Além de aplicar entretelas que as instruções mencionam, também entretelei a zona do decote atrás:
Aqui podem ver o casaco do avesso, antes de aplicar a gola e as vistas, onde se pode observar que além das entretelas também apliquei um reforço de pano de algodão ao longo da frente (em branco na foto):
Nas bainhas tanto do casaco como das mangas colei entretela com o dobro da largura da bainha mais 1cm:
Nas fotos seguintes podem ver a frente com a gola e lapelas (acrescentei também um pesponto nas orlas) e as costas:
Podem observar também o bolso na costura e a passadeira que apliquei para o cinto; fiz uma corrente de croché com linha torçal com duas pontas de fio de cada lado, para depois coser no casaco:
O casaco foi confeccionado segundo as explicações do método industrial do Paco; o forro é de cetim dourado onde apliquei um vivo de cetim castanho, que também serviu para a argola de pendurar:
O tecido que usei é uma mistura de 10% caxemira 90% lã e trouxe uma etiqueta de origem, que cosi junto com a minha:
Conclusão: Um casaco muito quentinho, prático e confortável, o qual usarei bastante este ano, tenho a certeza. Podem ver-me a usar o casaco aqui.

Original pattern: BurdaStyle August 2010, model 102 (I made view A, but kept the length of view B)
Description: Robe style coat, simple and classic, has a tie belt as single closure, in-seam pockets and 3/4 sleeves, a mix of raglan on the front with kimono sleeves on the back – this was the feature that drawn me into this pattern in the first place.
Making of: It’s quite straight forward, the only difficulty for the beginner would be the pivoting on the front sleeve junction and the collar with bands, both subjects were previously addressed, I believe:
I fused interfacing as instructed but I also added a little extra reinforcement on the back neckline:
Here’s the wrong side view before stitching the facings and the collar, so you can see the interfacings and also the front cotton reinforcement (in white) that I also added:
The hem reinforcements are twice the hem allowances width plus a little extra:
In the next pictures you can see the front (collar and lapels) and back detail; notice that I added topstitching along the front and collar edges:
Here’s the in-seam pocket and the belt loops that I made crocheting some buttonhole thread into a chain leaving two long ends of thread to be able to stitch the loop to the coat’s side seams:
The coat was made following Paco’s tutorial for the industrial method; the lining is golden sating with a brown satin edge trim; the brown bias ribbon was also used for making the hanging loop:
The fabric is a 10% cashmere 90% wool blend that I ordered online from the UK, it is excellent quality coating fabric which came with an origin label that I stitched next to my own label:
Conclusion: A warm and cozy coat, casual and trendy, which will get plenty of wear this year, for sure. You can see a picture of me wearing the coat here.
