Burda Dez97 e o meu primeiro casaco de pelo - BWOFDec97 and my first faux fur coat

Português
English (uncheck the other box and check this one)

O detalhe do capuz:

O forro (cetim negro) e o esquemático:

When I presented the black fur coat on my previous post I couldn’t help remembering of the first fur coat that I sewed back in the end of the 90’s; those times were quite productive for me sewing wise! I will start by introducing the magazine in which the model is featured:

Although the cover and the instructions are written in Portuguese, this edition is actually the Spanish BWOF, as you can see by the pages showing the featured city (dear Isabelle, I know you already miss Paris, so this is dedicated to you!):

The original model that I sewed back in 97-98 is this one:

This coat was worn until exhaustion! It was my favorite coat for many years and I called it my “Wolf coat” because the fur I used resembles the fur of certain wolves. A few years ago I offered the coat to my younger sister who still wears it and surprise, the other day she brought it to me so I could fix one of the button loops that was ripped. This is a good chance to show you some of my past sewing projects so here's the Wolf coat:

The hood detail:

The lining (black satin) and the line drawing:

And the broken button loop made of cord that I will have to repair:

See you guys later! I'm off to watch the Obama Presidency Inauguration on TV!

That coat is beautiful. It is a wonderful feeling when the things we make stand the test of time.

It is not much different from your new fur coat. Both are lovely. I am surprised you gave it to your sister. But I suppose you must have lots of beautiful garments bursting out of your cupboards/wardrobe!

How classic! Very pretty with the hood.

BTW, my daughter just got the third book of the Eragon series for Christmas and finished it up the week after Christmas. Now she's waiting for the 4th book to come out!

Tany, how wonderful to know your garments are being appreciated! I'm sure your sister "borrows" lots of your garments. Lucky her :)

Tany , you must have been a baby in the early 90s Obviously a very gifted baby!! I love reading your blg . I often read it at work when i have mini break and i often feel inspired to get home and do some sewing but then there are hungry children and dogs to feed!! Oh well.

Beautiful coat Tany!

I love the pattern and many times hope to live somewhere with seasons and colder weather. I have the same jacket short version in blue faux fur and another longer in pink with gray. My favorite winter coats...now in my closet back in Romania, waiting for me to go on vacation over there...

Also, I have made the jacket on the cover a long time ago with the help of my mom, you should try that pattern too, I loved it!
