Burda Dez97 e o meu primeiro casaco de pelo - BWOFDec97 and my first faux fur coat

Com a apresentação do casaco de pelo negro no post anterior, não poderia deixar de lembrar-me de uma peça que fiz nos finais dos anos 90, uma época que foi bastante produtiva para mim em termos de costura. Antes de mais a revista que guardo desde então:

Apesar da capa e o caderno de instruções estarem escritos em Português, a edição é Espanhola, como podem ver pelas páginas da cidade às quais foi dedicada esta edição (querida Isabelle, tenho a certeza que já sentes saudades de Paris e esta foto é dedicada a ti!):

O modelo de casaco de pelo que fiz na altura foi este:

Usei este casaco até à exaustão! Chamava-lhe (e ainda lhe chamo) de “casaco-Lobo”, por causa do pelo que usei se assemelhar à pelagem de alguns lobos. Entretanto acabei por oferece-lo à minha irmã, que ainda o usa. Surpresa das surpresas, há dias ela trouxe-mo para arranjar e achei que o podia mostrar aqui, para verem que há uns anos eu já fazia umas coisas giras! Aqui está:

When I presented the black fur coat on my previous post I couldn’t help remembering of the first fur coat that I sewed back in the end of the 90’s; those times were quite productive for me sewing wise! I will start by introducing the magazine in which the model is featured:

Although the cover and the instructions are written in Portuguese, this edition is actually the Spanish BWOF, as you can see by the pages showing the featured city (dear Isabelle, I know you already miss Paris, so this is dedicated to you!):

The original model that I sewed back in 97-98 is this one:

This coat was worn until exhaustion! It was my favorite coat for many years and I called it my “Wolf coat” because the fur I used resembles the fur of certain wolves. A few years ago I offered the coat to my younger sister who still wears it and surprise, the other day she brought it to me so I could fix one of the button loops that was ripped. This is a good chance to show you some of my past sewing projects so here's the Wolf coat:

Jaqueta em imitação de pele - Faux fur jacket

Modelo original: Burda Out2008 mod102

Descrição: Jaqueta simples cortada a direito, mangas raglan com elástico nos punhos (omiti o elástico na minha versão), gola alta e fecho com molas de pressão. A jaqueta é completamente forrada.

Material: imitação de pele de pónei (pele com o pelo mais curto), forro e 5 molas de pressão grandes.

Modificações: Como já referi, não coloquei os elásticos nos punhos e por isso encurtei as mangas em 5cm. Também acrescentei uma mola de pressão mais perto da gola.

Esta jaqueta é bastante simples de fazer, tendo os cuidados normais na manipulação de tecidos com pelo (a Burda traz um artigo sobre a costura deste tipo de tecidos e também sobre as molas de pressão). Além de simples, é bastante versátil; podem ver a seguir como fica com um cinto e com a gola para baixo:

Conclusão: Depois de ter estado adoentada, precisei de algo fácil e rápido de fazer; como sabem as temperaturas têm estado bastante baixas e por isso resolvi dar prioridade aos casacos mais quentes e deixar as peças mais leves para depois. Gosto muito do estilo desta jaqueta (sou apaixonada por casacos com pelo!) e creio que saiu muito bem neste tecido de pelo curto em negro. É o primeiro elemento do conjunto Neo-Punk Britânico!

Original model: BWOF Oct2008 mod102

Description: Simple straight-cut jacket has raglan sleeves and elasticized cuffs (I omitted this detail in my version), standing collar and front snap closure. The jacket is fully lined.

Materials: Faux fur (it’s kind of an imitation of pony hair because the pile is so short) in black, lining and 5 huge snaps.

Alterations: As I stated before, I skipped the elastic on the cuffs and had to shorten the sleeves by nearly 2 inches for this reason. I also added another snap near the collar.

This jacket is very simple to make, taking the special care and instructions on handling pile fabrics into account (this edition of BWOF features an article on this subject and also on the big snap closures). Not only this is a simple design, it is also versatile; in the pictures above you can see it worn with a belt and with the collar down for a different look:


These snaps are really huge! They are made of black acrylic. I found them at my usual notions store here in Aveiro.

Conclusion: After being sick I needed something quick and easy to get me back on the road; besides, the temperatures here have been low and I decided that I need to prioritize my sewing list, starting by the warmer elements (the other might as well carry me through spring!). I really love the style of this jacket, it reminds me of another one I made many years ago (that’s a subject for another post!). This is the first sewn element of the British Neo-Punk collection!

A Colecção Extravagância Cor-de-Laranja - The Orange Extravaganza Collection

Aqui têm algumas combinações possíveis deste conjunto, que recolhi durante a semana:

Jaqueta de xadrez, calças de xadrez estilo masculino e camisa de mangas tufadas:

Jaqueta de xadrez e saia de xadrez (aqui conjugados com elementos em cinza, como o top de gola alta, os colants e as caneleiras):

Há muitas mais combinações possíveis, por exemplo combinações com preto, que ficam muito bem com os elementos deste conjunto. Espero que tenham gostado!

Entretanto já terminei o primeiro elemento da Colecção Neo-Punk Britânico! Vou ver se tenho tempo de o publicar ainda hoje!

The combinations are endless and there’s no time to get them all! Besides coordinating with anthracite grey, these elements also look very good worn with black. I hope you enjoyed this collection as much as I did!

Top estilo vestido - Dress-like sweater

Enquanto esperam pelas fotos do conjunto “Extravagância Cor-de-laranja” (já tenho algumas fotos prontas mas quero tirar mais; a verdade é que tenho estado adoentada e sem grande tempo para o blogue), vou mostrar-vos um top que fiz ainda no ano passado; aqui estou a usá-lo com as calças do conjunto:

O modelo comprei-o aqui (http://www.sweaterbabe.com) e só tenho a reportar uma boa experiência com este modelo e com o serviço a clientes da SweaterBabe. O modelo traz instruções para o modelo de manga curta e de manga comprida.

Fio utilizado: Rosários 4 Dinastia em cor mesclada beije acastanhado (7 novelos de 100g)
Agulhas: circulares de 7mm (US10.5?)

Esta sweater é tricotada de cima para baixo (começa-se pela gola), com agulhas circulares, e o resultado é a ausência de costuras a não ser uma pequena porção debaixo da manga. Outro aspecto que gostei bastante é a forma cintada conseguida através de diminuições e aumentos, em forma de pinça.



O detalhe do ponto torcido da gola e da renda no meio da frente dão a esta sweater um toque muito moderno e original:

While awaiting for the promised Orange Extravaganza photo shoot (I have a few photos but I need to take some more; the truth is that I haven’t been feeling very well during this week and I had no time for my blogging/sewing activities), I will show you a sweater that I’ve made back in 2008 but had no time to write about it until now (I’m wearing it with the Orange Extravaganza pants):

bought the model here (http://www.sweaterbabe.com) and had a great experience both with this pattern and the SweaterBabe Customer Service. The purchased model offers instructions on both long and short sleeve versions (I made the short-sleeve version).

Yarn used: Rosarios4 Dinastia (brown/beige colorway), 7 x 100g skeins
Needles: circular US10-11 (7mm)

This sweater is knitted from the top down and the end result is the absence of seams except for a little portion on the underarm. Another detail that I was quite fond of was the subtle waist shaping: the decreases/increases actually create a dart effect, just like a fitted dress.



The wide cabled collar and the front lace pattern are really beautiful:
