EN: When I start planning this project the weather was rainy and cold so making a wool flannel suit didn't feel like inappropriate. Now the weather as finally changed for the better yet I hate putting a project aside so I decided to finish it anyway, even if I won't be able to wear it until next fall.
As you can see from observing the line drawing, the pants are classic straight-leg pleated trousers with slightly high waist, wide straight waistband and hem turn-ups. There's a fly-front zipper on the front and two slanted double-welt pockets. On the back there's a single welt pocket kept closed by a button and a fabric loop. The length of the pants is optimal for wearing with masculine shoes (not high heels), for someone with average height as I am. I cut size 40 and opened the front pleats a little bit to give more room to my abdomen.

Como podem observar no croquis, As calças clássicas ao estilo masculino, com uma prega na frente, cós reto e largo e virolas nas bainhas. Têm uma braguilha com fecho e dois bolsos inclinados avivados metidos na frente. No lado direito das costas tem um bolso com pestana, que fecha com botão e aselha de tecido. O comprimento das calças está otimizado para sapatos masculinos (não para saltos altos), pelo menos para mulheres com estatura média (1,68m). Cortei o tamanho 40 e abri as pregas ligeiramente para dar um pouco mais de espaço para a barriguinha.
EN: Since I wanted the pants' stripes to be symmetrical, I cut according to a single-layer layout, and then mirrored the pieces on the other side of the fabric by placing the already cut pieces facing down on top of the fabric, making sure the stripes matched.

It's very important to reinforce the pocket placement area and the fly-front facings with thin interfacing. The welts were also interfaced, creased in half, and stitched to the pocket bags before proceeding with the pocket construction. This stitching will serve as a guide so it is very important that it is accurate.

EN: Wen all the details were finished, I constructed the pants as usual, only adding the turn-ups at the hems (basically there's a wider machine-stitched hem on the inside, it's then turned up on the outside and hand-tacked in place). The next photos show the finished pants on the dressform; they are very elegant with a well defined waist and hip line:

EN: There's also a pant's hook inside the waistband. I forgot to mention that the front pants are lined until just bellow the knee; the lining is added to the fronts right after the pockets are finished and hides their inside details, also making the pants more comfortable and less prone to wearing wrinkles.

Esqueci-me de mencionar (e de fotografar) que a frente das calças é forrada até abaixo dos joelhos; o forro foi aplicado às partes da frente depois de concluir os bolsos, esondendo os detalhes interiores e também tornando as calças mais confortáveis e menos sujeitas a engelhas na frente.
