EN: As I have mentioned in my previous article, this lovely jacket pattern is available for purchasing here; members of the Susan Khalje Couture Sewing Club get exclusive access to a complete series of video tutorials on how to test, fit, cut and construct this beautiful jacket. I have watched the videos and I highly recommend them. I did apply some of the techniques demonstrated, but also used different techniques sometimes, because what really matters is a flawless end result and in my experience, in most situations there isn't a unique right way to do things. What really matters is that we keep pushing ourselves further, learn from the experience and really enjoy what we are doing. For example, I didn't use the extra wide 1" seam allowances; after testing the pattern I was pretty confident I wouldn't need them. This doesn't mean I am advising you not to use them, it's a safeguard and the wide SAs come in handy if you need adding more ease (sometimes the muslin seems alright ease-wise, but when you're using a heavier fashion fabric it can really affect the wearing ease and the way the garment feels on the body; this effect can be anticipated too, of course, but can only be doone correctly with wide experience.
The first detail that I want to show is the single welt in-seam pockets: I cut both pocket bags of lining fabric and constructed the pocket entirely by machine; I also reinforced the pocket ends with a narrow top-stitching (I tend to put my hands in the pockets often and need these ends really secured).

Vi todos este videos, e recomendo-os vivamente, mas em algumas situações segui técnicas um pouco diferentes; o que realmente importa é que se desafiem, aprendam com a experiência e disfrutem realmente de todo o processo. Por exemplo, não usei as margens de costura extra-largas de 2,5cm; depois de testar o molde, achei que não necessitava delas. Isto não significa que vos esteja a aconselhar a dispensá-las; são de facto uma salva-guarda se durante o processo de confeção necessitarem dar uma folga extra à peça. Por vezes o modelo de prova não reflete exatamente a folga necessária com um tecido mais pesado. Essa folga pode ser antecipada mesmo assim, mas saber faze-lo só se consegue com muita experiência.
O primeiro detalhe que quero mostrar é o bolso metido na costura avivado com uma só pestana. As funduras foram cortadas de tecido de forro e confecionei o bolso inteiramente à máquina (a Susan fá-lo de maneira ligeiramente diferente, com alguma costura à mão). Também reforcei os cantos com um pesponto à máquina, pois como tenho tendência a meter as mãos nos bolsos frequentemente, e por isso estes cantos têm que ser muito bem reforçados.
EN: Below you can observe the under collar, which is cut on the bias (mirrored) with a center back seam and reinforced with silk organza; the upper collar will be cut on the fold (center back line on the grain). Also note the back dart radiating from the neckline; this little dart plays a very important role on the fitting of the back and its existence means reassurance of high pattern drafting quality:

PT: A jaqueta tem uma pinça de peito curta (o volume do peito também é assegurado pela forma do painel lateral; não há costura lateral neste caso). A parte da frente e o painel lateral têm peças diferentes de molde de acordo com o tamanho da copa que necessitarem (B, C ou D são as opções disponíveis com este molde).
EN: I decided to add a cuff tab and a button to the cuff of the 3/4 length sleeves; since the buttons are so beautiful, it's a nice detail do have and it adds value to the jacket:
