A jaqueta roxa: terminada! - The purple jacket: finished!

Finally some peace of mind and free time to be able to show you this jacket!

This is a loose fitting jacket with raglan 3/4 sleeves, the front closure is made with large snaps and it has flap pockets on the front.

Fabric: A 70%wool 30% polyester blend, it's thick yet soft; it's a knit yet has no stretch at all. Its texturized surface reminds me of boucle:
Modificações ao modelo original:
Modifications to the original model:

I cut my usual 38 with no alterations at all; I followed the instructions for the most of it but I added a few steps like interfacing the pocket opening area and reinforcing the armhole seams with cotton tape for stabilization. To add value to this simple model, I made a lining trim, embroidered the back lining fold, covered the snaps and added a beaded trim to the hem and sleeve hem.

Detalhes – Details:

Os bolsos com paleta:
The single welt pockets with flaps:
The aged metal ball buttons and covered snaps ( I couldn't find lining as an exact match to the fabric's color so I decided to use silver lining fabric matching the lining trim inside):

A gola: The collar:

The lining trim (it's made from a bias strip of silver lining folded in two lengthwise and hand basted to the facings, crossing the lining stitching line for 5mm):
O detalhe do vivo bordado a missangas, cosido à mão à jaqueta:
The beaded trim detail; it's handstitched to the jacket:
Conclusion: A jaquet that can be worn either on everyday life or on a special occasion, very sporty and 60's style (my favorite era for fashion)! It's relatively easy to make so I think this is an ideal first jacket project for those of you who have never sewn a jacket. I like its retro style and the violet/purple color that this year is very representative in my wardrobe!
I would also like to send a few shout outs to my sewing friends who send me gifts this week:

Obrigada Laura!
Laura sent me two more knit lining fabrics; I was unable to find this kind of fabric locally and I think this would be perfect for lining trousers and clingy dresses. This time Laura sent me this fabric in white and light pink. Thank you!
I want to send Julie my BIG THANK YOU for the magnificent fabrics she sent me as a gift! I will never forget Julie's generosity and I hope I can make it up to her one day! I already have a few ideas for some of these fabrics so you can expect updates on my Future project list soon!
On the knitting front I'll have a FO (finished object) to show you very soon, so stay tuned!

OMG Tany! That jacket is so fabulous! This is one of those pieces that you flip through the book and say "cute" and move on. But yours with the added details has outdone Burda. I love the trim that you added. I actually think it looks better with the lighter colored lining. I love the buttons. I love adding staps to outerwear... it really gives it a feeling a high-end RTW. Fantastic job as usual.

Glad you're feeling better and WOW, fabulous jacket. The color is wonderful for you. And I very much like your embellishments.
It's so nice to have sewing friends everywhere! Not because of the fabrics (though they're a great gift), but for the sharing and encouragement. That's how I feel it. Enjoy your new fabrics.

Tany I love it! The special touchs you've added to the inside are fabulous; I especially loved the decorative stitching below the back collar facing. And the beaded trim is just perfect. Phyllis

The lining trim detail-I have never seen that before-I love it-I really like the idea of the inside of a garment being just as exquisite as the outside

Thank you all, I'm glad you like this jacket!

Reethi: Thanks! Do try sewing a jacket, it's lot of fun! Just remember to pick up an easy pattern for your first project because jackets can be really challenging! I believe it's the first time you are commenting, if so, welcome to COuture et Tricot!

Paco ¡Gracias!

Beijinhos!

Berry (from France): Oh, only now I realized I have two commenters with the same signature! If I didn't welcome you before, be welcome to Couture et Tricot!

In America there's a saying "The Proof is in the Pudding" and refers to whether or not something really stands up to scrutiny.
In this case, the pudding can be equated to the details, and the "pudding" does indeed stand up!
Fabulous jacket, incredible detailing. Thank you for all the detail shots.
