EN: The pattern used was DP Studio Le606 version b, with some modifications: I cut DP size 42 and had to make the shirt shorter than the original (which is practically a shirt-dress), because my yardage wasn't enough to make a longer shirt. I measured a purchased oversized shirt and shortened the pattern accordingly. I also altered the button spacing to fit my altered pattern and added the chest pockets of version a. The cuffs of my version take two buttons instead of just one.
---

EN: Version b can be described as a loose-fit shirt dress featuring some details of a classic shirt like the crisp collar with stand, the back yoke and the straight button placket on the front; the original/edgier detail is the sleeve design: the two-piece cuffed sleeves incorporate added fulness managed by a horizontal dart on the upper sleeve where some pleats are inserted. The bottom of the shirt is also different, with a straight hem on the back and a round hem on the front.
---

EN: I used a black iridescent linen from my fabric stash and 4-hole shirting mother-of-pearl buttons, also from my stash. I had enough buttons so I decided to add the chest pockets of version a to my shirt:

EN: I had buttons to spare so I used two buttons on each cuff instead of just one (given the fact that my buttons are only 3/8" in diameter and it's a wide cuff, two buttons seemed more appropriate too):
---

EN Last thoughts: If you want to practice industrial sewing techniques, the best way is to sew a traditional shirt. Regarding this pattern in particular, I really enjoyed the sewing process and the final product; not only the instructions are spot on, there are real gems in the details of this model worth mentioning, like the sleeve design and the very easy way of constructing the cuff vent, for example. The pattern is very well drafted and all the pieces come together perfectly so I highly recommend it.

Thank you all for reading!

Recomendo vivamente!

Lovely and those sleeves are spectacular. I am seeing some real creativity on sleeves lately, not just the "bigger and puffier the better" we've seen for the past year or so. Love your fabric choice as well, Tany.
