EN: I've had this pantsuit in my sewing list for quite some time, and a quick inspection to my stash revealed that I had all I needed at home to be able to make it. These pants are office style ankle length slim fit pants with a side zipper. There are three narrow side panels on each side (allowing the mix of different fabrics/colors, if desired), a long back yoke and an invisible side zipper. The front crease of the pants is adorned with a thin pin-tuck. The recommended fabric is bi-stretch suiting or any pants fabric with a good percentage of stretch.

PT: Já tinha este fato-calça na minha lista de desejos há bastante tempo e depois de confirmar que tinha no meu stock todos os materiais necessários para o confecionar, meti mãos à obra. As calças estilo "office-style" afuniladas pelo tornozelo têm três paineis estreitos de cada lado (o que permite um jogo de listas de outra cor, se pretendido), fecham com um fecho invisível de lado e têm um encaixe alto atrás. Os vincos da frente são adornados com uma nervura. Os tecidos recomendados são tecidos para calças com elastano, bi-elásticos.
EN: This pattern includes a variation for fuseau style pants (model 117) so I took the stretch fabric recommendation seriously; since my fabric (a blue medium weight blend suiting of unknown composition) has little stretch and only on the crosswise direction, I decided to cut size 40.

PT: Este molde tem uma variação para calças fuseau (o modelo 117), por isso tomei a sério a recomendação do tecido com elasticidade; como o meu tecido (um tecido misto para fatos azul, com composição que desconheço), tem pouca elasticidade e apenas no sentido transversal, resolvi cortar o tamanho 40.
EN: The truth is that I could have gotten away with size 38 or even 36 (on size 36 the pants would look skinny on the legs, though); this pattern runs big size-wise, a fact that I wasn't aware of until I noticed the measurement of the waistband (it's a rectangle that has to be drawn separately; there's a table with the cut dimensions, including 5/8" SAs all around, for each size). If it was a dropped waistband model, it would have been fine, but the waistband is supposed to sit on the true waistline, IMO. To solve the size issue I cut the waistband according to my waist measurement plus 2 cm of ease (roughly 4/5") and decided to ease the back yoke. The pants turned out quite comfortable that way and they fit fine, without being too skinny on the legs.

PT: A verdade é que bem poderia ter cortado o tamanho 38 ou até o 36 (no entanto, no tamanho 36 as calças ficariam mesmo justas nas pernas); este molde tem um tamanho grande, não respeitando a tabela de medidas da Burda, pelo menos quanto à medida da cintura, e só reparei depois de já ter cortado as calças, quando fui cortar o cós de acordo com a tabela apresentada (que inclui já as margens de costura de 1,5cm a toda a volta). Se fosse um modelo de cintura descida, até se percebia, mas claramente que neste caso o cós assenta na cintura natural. Para resolver o problema, reduzi o comprimento do cós para a medida da minha cintura e acrescentei apenas 2cm de folga. Ao coser o cós, embebi um pouco o encaixe de trás e o assunto ficou resovido. O resultado foi bom, com umas calças confortáveis sem ficarem demasiado justas nas pernas.
EN: I was in doubt about cutting the side panels in a different color or not; in the end I decided to cut them from the same fabric, but perhaps I will make another version of these pants with side colored stripes, in the future.

PT: Estive na dúvida quanto a cortar as listas laterais em cor diferente ou não. No final decidi cortar tudo no mesmo tecido, mas talvez faça outras calças com este molde e aí vou experimentar brincar um bocadinho com as listas.
EN: The only missing feature in these pants are the pockets; if I make them again I will probably include in-seam pockets on the seams between the front panels and the front-most lateral stripe/panel. One or two horizontal back single-welt pockets could also be added on the seam between the yoke and the back leg panels.

PT: A única característica que falta neste modelo é bolsos; de fizer novamente estas calças, provavelmente vou acrescentar bolsos metidos na costura entre a frente e a primeira lista. Atrás também se poderiam acrescentar um ou dois bolsos avivados na costura que separa os encaixes e as partes de trás das calças.
EN: I am happy with the pants, in spite of the sizing issue but I will definitively go at least one size down if I make them again, specially if using a stretch fabric. The pants were finished on the 9th of June, and I have already finished the matching blazer too, to be shown in the next article (so stay tuned). I am still working on catching up :). PT: Fiquei satisfeita com as calças, apesar da questão do tamanho; se as fizer novamente, é certo que vou cortar um ou dois tamanhos abaixo, se usar um tecido elástico. Terminei as calças já em 9 de Junho e entretanto também terminei o blazer, que mostrarei no artigo seguinte (ainda não terminei de por este blogue em dia). Boas costuras para todos!
