EN: Last weekend I had planned to finish my purple overcoat but my free time shrunk to just about a couple of hours on Sunday so it is not finished yet. I do have a finished garment to show, this lovely knitted vest (knitted just like my Lemonade yellow vest reviewed here), using once again yarn purchased from ogatomimo.com.pt, the Pingo Fluffy "Doux Tu Sors Ça". It's a lovely fluffy yarn (85% acrylic, 15% polyamide), in shades of baby-blue and hunter green (saddly sold out by now).

PT: No fim-de-semana passado tinha planeado terminar o meu sobretudo roxo, mas afinal não tive tanto tempo livre como esperava: pude dedicar-me à costura apenas umas horas no Domingo. Mesmo assim consegui terminar uma peça durante a semana, tirando partido do tempo ao fim do dia enquanto vejo TV. Tricotei este colete tão charmoso (exatamente o mesmo modelo do colete Limonada que mostrei aqui), usando mais uma vez um fio do ogatomimo.com.pt, Pingo Fluffy "Doux Tu Sors Ça". É um fio felpudo (85% acrílico, 15% poliamida), em tons azul-bebé e verde-musgo (creio que está esgotado agora).
EN: This yarn has a tie-dye color effect that translates into stripes; while knitting the body from the bottom to the base of the armholes (knitting in the round with circular needles) the stripes are more thin and close together; from the armholes up the work is divided into front and back: the stripes get wider and the tie-dye effect is enhanced. I think it's a lovely effect, and it reminded me of the colors of the ocean with bad weather, hence the "Ocean Tempest" name for the vest.

PT: Este fio tem um tingimento em duas cores em degradé que se traduz em riscas quando tricotado; do cós até às cavas o colete é tricotado com agulhas circulares em redondo, por isso as riscas são finas e mais juntas; a partir das cavas o trabalho divide-se em frente e costas que são tricotadas à vez, produzindo riscas mais grossas e evidenciado o efeito degradé das cores. Acho que é um efeito muito bonito e a gama e padrão das cores fez-me lembrar o oceano revolto em dia de tempestade, daí o nome que dei ao colete "Tempestade no Oceano".

EN: I tried to maintain the color/stripe symmetry when knitting the armhole ribbing on each side, otherwise it would look weird in my opinion. It's not possible to guarantee perfect symmetry unless I was measuring the yarn in the same color pattern (I didn't), but the end result is close enough.

PT: Tentei fazer o revesilho das cavas com riscas/cores simétricas dos dois lados, senão ficaria um pouco esquisitona minha opinião. Não é possível garantir uma simetria perfeita a não ser que se medisse o fio com o mesmo padrão de cor (não o fiz), mas o resultado aproximado satisfez-me.
EN: I really love the vest and it looks and feels completely original.
Regarding my purple overcoat, I managed to sew the body, the sleeves (which are lined already), the lining and the facings, all in separate units; I need to assemble all units together, set in the shoulder pads / sleeve heads, finish the bound buttonholes on the facing side, bag the lining and tack the facings & hems on the wrong side all by hand. There's still a lot to do so it won't be finished until next weekend.

PT: Adorei o efeito neste colete e acho que lhe dá um aspeto completamente original.
Quanto ao sobretudo roxo, tenho o corpo já montado, as mangas já com o forro aplicado, o forro e as vistas tudo em unidades separadas; é preciso juntar tudo, aplicar os chumaços / cabeças das mangas, fazer o acabamento das casas avivadas do lado das vistas, coser o forro à máquina no casaco e prender vistas e bainhas com pontos à mão no interior. Ainda há muito trabalho a fazer por isso só no próximo fim-de-semana é que deve estar pronto.
