Calções amarelos e umas merecidas férias - The yellow shorts and a well deserved vacation break

Português
English (uncheck the other box and check this one)

Descrição: Um estilo desportivo numa cor elegante.

Couture et Tricot is officially on vacation break, during which I will maintain an Internet abstinence. Believe me, I really need this; the last couple of weeks have been chaotic and I feel drained out; I want to have fun, go out, enjoy the beach, etc. and not think about anything else. Before my “leave of absence” I will show you the yellow shorts (not on me, because I don’t feel comfortable showing my currently untanned legs – it’s a girl thing, nothing that a few hours in the sun won’t fix; I’m sure you'll understand).

Original model: BWOF July 2009 model 113B:

Description (from Burdafashion.com): Sporty styling, elegant color. This summer, shorts with turn-ups/hem cuffs, waistband and belt carriers are a major basic. Wear yours with high heels and your tanned legs will look endlessly long!

The shorts aren’t difficult to make and they take only one yard of fabric. I wasn’t really in the mood for time consuming finishing techniques (due to my lack of time the shorts were taking forever to finish) so I serged all the SAs. You can see the buttoned waistband and fly-front zipper in the next picture:

The inside view:

The side-front slanted pockets:

The turn-ups are made differently from the usual turn-ups on pants; they are made before sewing the inner leg seam; on the side seams the cuffs are tacked by hand (invisible from the right side):

The inner seam though, is stitched all-in-one with the turn-ups:

Conclusion: Cute shorts for my usual strolls on the beach, didn’t take much material: the fabric and threads were remnants from last year’s Formula 1 dress and the button is a spare from a RTW yellow jacket bought some time ago:

I wish you all a great holiday time! See you in a few weeks!

How funny that you think you took short cuts on finishing these shorts - they look amazing! Have a fabulous holiday and get a great tan (I would need about 3 months not 3 hours!)

I hope you had a great time (no doubt you will be back by the time you read this). And your "white" legs would be darker than my mid summer legs..lol...no hope for me. And the shorts are very cute, a fun colour too.

Tany, you are so fast, I cannot believe how fast you sew your clothes. Do you sleep. Plus, everything is perfect! The shorts and asymmetrical (yellow and black) blouse will be gorgeous together. With your black hair, you will be out of this world. You are very inspiring, but I cannot follow your rhythm of creation. I apologize for sometimes missing so of your posts. Again, you are amazing and so talented. Have wonderful vacations. Anne From Montreal

Tany said...

Boa sorte! :)))
