The waistband is a rectangle folded in half lengthwise which needs to be stitched to the skirt before attaching the invisible zipper and the lining; then the invisible zipper is stitched in, followed bu the lining stitched by machine to the hem and vent; then I stitched the lining to the inner edge of the waistband, reaching and pulling through the lining zipper opening, both layers (waistband and lining) together as they should be stitched; lastly the lining zipper opening is stitched to the zipper tape by hand and the waistband is stitched in the ditch, securing all layers in place (it's good to have the waistband pre-folded before attaching it to the skirt; it will make the job easier and precise).

PT: O forro é aplicado a toda a saia pelo método industrial (tudo à máquina). O cós é um rectângulo dobrado em dois no sentido do comprimento, por isso precisa de ser cosido à saia antes de aplicar o zíper invisível e o forro; só depois se cose o zíper, que apanha a parte exterior do canto do cós. O forro é depois cosido à máquina à bainha e racha da saia, e deve ser cosido à parte interior do cós; para isso mete-se a mão entre a saia e o forro pela abertura do zíper no forro e segura-se a parte interior do cós e forro juntos, como devem ser cosidos, puxando-os para fora pela abertura para coser à máquina. Depois de efetuada esta costura, a abertura do ziper em forro é cosida à mão às fitas do zíper, e o cós é pespontado ao longo da costura de junção com a saia, pelo direito, prendendo todas as camadas no lugar. É muito importante que o cós esteja vincado ao meio ao longo do comprimento antes de o coser à saia (facilita muito o trabalho e obté-se uma costura mais limpa e precisa).

CONCLUSION: I love the end result and highly recommend this kit. It is still available from Hamon Paris (here) and being part of the first batch of So Chic Boxes made available, its price is considerably cheaper than the last batch. The fabric is really worth it, in my opinion. The pattern for the top is also a favorite of mine and you can buy it directly from DP Studio (here).

that fabric is gorgeous, so perfect for this outfit. and it's quite difficult to find vertical stripes whenever I'm wanting to use one.

The vent is very interesting. Only miterd on one side? So beautifully made and such great fabric.
