EN: I remember Paco confiding in me that it took several muslins to develop the bodice pattern of this jumpsuit as he had envisioned, without any darts. I feel blessed for having the chance of sewing such pattern, the true work of a master couturier.
---
EN: Here's the wrong side of the bodice; the inner center front inset is the same pattern piece as the outer, but it is interfaced; the side panels on the wrong side are divided into armhole facings and lining. All edges are under-stitched.
---
EN: The edge of the inner bodice is finished with a "lining facing": a wide bias cut strip of lining which bounds the bottom edge. This lining facing is catch-stitched to the waistline seam allowances, which were previously pressed towards the bodice.
---
EN: Here's the back view of the jumpsuit:

PT: Aqui têm a vista de trás do macacão:
EN: When sewing the invisible zipper to the back seam, the waist seam and contrast should align perfectly; the best way to achieve this is to hand-baste the closed zipper before machine-stitching; it is also useful to tack the zipper by machine along the section that crosses the waist seam first (no need for the special zipper presser foot for this), making sure it is aligned with the zipper closed, before stitching the zipper from top down with the special purpose presser foot.
---

PT: Aqui têm a vista lateral:
EN: Instead of just hand-tacking the hems as mentioned in the instructions, I finished them with Hug-Snug binding tape, like Paco often did (this technique is mostly used by men's tailors). The tape is first machine stitched to the edge of the hem allowance (not folded, it's not being used as a binding), with its upper edge sitting at approximately 1/4" beyond the hem edge; then the tape is catch-stitched to the pants on the wrong side. This allows for a much smoother hem transition, elimination the ridge we sometimes get on hems. It also looks neater on the wrong side.
---
EN: Sadly this the last pattern by Paco Peralta for Vogue :'(. His memory will live on, I will try to make sure of that. I really hope my notes will be useful to those willing to sew this jumpsuit. Thank you all for visiting and don't forget to see me wearing the jumpsuit on Tany et La Mode (click here).

Paco would be so pleased at your lovely garment. How very special that you knew him and he confided that the bodice took several muslins to get the right fit. His creative patterns will live on. Karen

Beautiful details! I love to see (and sew) beautifully finished garments. I hope all those labels don't itch. And I love your photo assistant.
