The Paz Torras dress has no lining or facings as the other dresses I made this year; for the armhole finish I used a very simple technique: it uses self-fabric's bias stripes, log enough to go around each armhole and about 1.6 inches wide. First I folded each stripe in half lengthwise and then I shaped it with my iron to fit the armhole rounded shape (the fold stays at the

Next I pinned the folded stripe to the armhole making sure that the folded edge passes the basted seam line for about 2/8 inches to the inside and the raw edge faces the SA:

After stitching along the armhole seam line, I trimmed the SAs together with the tripe's raw edges to about 1/8 inch, turned the folded stripe to the inside, basted, pressed and topstitched! Neat and easy!

I use that technique too. I think it looks really nice. Sometimes I fold the binding to the outside for a different look.
