Descrição: Crepe-chiffon, um bonito padrão étnico, uma racha lateral e mangas dólmen: este vestido-túnica leve e esvoaçante é perfeito para usar sobre o bikini nas idas para a praia e nas caminhadas à beira-mar. É também muito rápido e fácil de fazer!
Alterações ao modelo original: Para tirar partido do padrão da peça de tecido, que se situa centrado no meio ao longo do seu comprimento, tive que acrescentar uma costura no meio das costas (parte da saia). Também eliminei a costura dos ombros nas mangas/corpete, juntando os moldes da frente e costas e cortando o molde total na dobra do tecido correspondente à linha do centro das costas (no molde podem ver que acrescentei valores de costura nesta linha, prevendo a possibilidade de uma costura, mas não foi necessário):
A frente do corpete teve de levar uma costura no centro, o que até facilitou a aplicação da tira de viés de remate (podem ver a explicação de como se aplica esta tira num post que escrevi há algum tempo – cliquem aqui):
Os remates nas mangas, bainha e racha foram feitos segundo a técnica explicada pelo Paco neste artigo (clicar aqui); ver também conselhos fornecidos para lidar com tecidos muito finos e escorregadios (convém cortar o tecido juntamente com folhas de jornal, para o tecido não se mover durante o corte):
Conclusão: Uma peça muito fácil e rápida, óptima para usar na praia (para quem não sabe eu moro a 300m da praia) ou com umas leggings pretas para sair. Espero que tenham gostado!

Description: Crepe chiffon, a pretty ethnic print, a long side slit and dolman sleeves - this light and breezy caftan is perfect for wearing over your bikini for walks to, from and on the beach. It’s also very quick and easy to sew!
Alterations to the original model: I wanted to make the most out of the fabric’s print (which is centered along the fabric piece) so I had to add a center back seam on the skirt. I also eliminated the shoulder seam by joining the front and back sleeve/bodice patterns and cutting the obtained pattern on the fold of the fabric (the fold being located at center back). You can see there are SAs present at CB, because I didn’t know if I’d put a seam there or not. I folded them back and disregarded these SAs to be able to cut on the fold:
The bodice front, on the other hand, has an added CF seam (notice that the grain on the front bodice/sleeve was altered too, when I joined it with the back); this made the job of finishing the neckline edges a lot easier because the CF seam is stitched after finishing the edges with self-fabric bias stripes (I explained this finishing technique a little while back – read it here):
All the other edges (sleeves, hem and side slit) were finished using a technique that Paco explained a while back during one of his projects (click here); also note the tips for cutting slippery fabrics, also mentioned in his article:
Conclusion: Another quick&easy garment, it’s the perfect beach Wear garment (for those of you who don’t know, I live by the beach so I really wear these garments during most of my free time!). It can also be worn belted with some trendy black leggings for going out!
