I knitted this sweater during last December; I didn't use the recommended yarn so I had to use a different needle size too. I used 6mm and 5,5mm knitting needles (the 5,5mm neeedles are used to make the waistband and the shawl collar) and about 300g of GEDIFRA BELISANA yarn (70% Mohair, 15% Wool, 15 polyamide, 50g = 115m).

This is the original model from the magazine:

The GEDIFRA BELISANA yarn looses some hair, but not as much as I expected when I first saw it.
I did the waist ribbing first; this is done differently than usual: just cast on enough stitches to make the desired waistband height and knit as many rows (1/1 ribbing) as necessary to go around your waist. At the end, pick up the initial stitches and cast-off both ends together, producing a circle. The fronts and back are knitted picking up stitches from the waist ribbing. The shawl collar is done after shoulder seams are closed: I picked up some stitches on the back collar and beginning of upper front using circular needles; on each row I picked up four more stitches from the front collar edge and continued doing this until I reach the collar's bottom end. This way the finished collar is wider at center back and its width is decreased as it approaches the waist (I hope you can understand this).
