Desde o Natal que estou com uma forte constipação, por isso perdoem-me a falta de actualizações… Ainda não me encontro completamente recuperada, mas ontem já me senti capaz de fazer alguma coisa de costura; tinha este tecido há algum tempo, um crepe de composição desconhecida (provavelmente sintético) mas com um estampado muito original. Dois metros chegaram para fazer a versão túnica utilizando o molde do Paco tamanho M que se encontra à venda aqui. Quanto à confecção, segui os passos descritos no tutorial que o Paco publicou, com a diferença de terminar os valores de costura sobrepostos com a corta-e-cose, uma vez que o tecido é bastante fino. A gola foi cortada em viés. A construção decorreu sem problemas, uma vez seguidos alguns cuidados que se devem ter para tecidos finos e escorregadios.

I’ve been sick with a nasty cold since the day after Christmas, so forgive me the lack of updates. I’m not still fully recovered but yesterday I was feeling a little better and was able to cut and sew this tunic (size M) using 2 meters of printed crepe (composition unknown, probably synthetic), that I had in my stash for quite some time. The tunic pattern is by Paco Peralta and it's available for sale (click here). Since I used a woven fabric, I cut the collar piece on the bias. For the construction I followed Paco’s tutorial, except that I serged the SAs together and pressed them to one side, instead of pressing them open like Paco did. The construction process came along nicely (used a couple of tips for sewing with sheer slippery fabrics) and the tunic looks great in my opinion.

Paco's pattern: tunic with dramatic collar - Molde do Paco: túnica com gola dramática

Descrição: Vestido com gola drapeada, feito a partir de um molde para túnica, que o Paco me pediu para experimentar e avaliar. Resolvi aumentar 35cm ao comprimento e fazer um vestido, que me podem ver a usar aqui. O molde encontra-se à venda aqui.

Material usado: Tecido de malha de peso médio (composição desconhecida). Este molde pode ser feito tanto em malha ou Jersey como em tecido (macio e com cair suave, de preferência), pois tem bastante folga. Para fazer o vestido utilizei cerca de 2,3m de malha (1,5m de largura), a peça da gola é bastante grande.

A característica principal deste molde é a gola, que tem um formato muito bem conseguido pela mão do Paco. Na frente podem ver que é bastante larga e profunda e bastante volumosa graças ao tipo de malha utilizado:

Conclusão: Este molde é genial na sua simplicidade e não me ficarei por aqui, tenho que o experimentar com outros tecidos! O molde estará brevemente disponível no blogue do Paco em vários tamanhos! O molde já está disponível aqui!

Description: Draped collar dress, made from a tunic pattern that Paco asked to proof and evaluate. I lengthened the pattern by 14 inches to be able to wear it like a dress (you can see me wearing it here), pattern is available for purchase here.

Material: Medium weight knit (composition unknown). This pattern is suited for both knits and soft drapery woovens, because it’s loose fitting. To make the dress I used about 2.5 yards of knit fabric (the collar piece is quite large!)

The main feature of the tunic is its outstanding collar, which is genially shaped with a deep and wide scope on the front, narrower at the back. Here’s the front, it has a nice volume due to the medium weight knit used:

Conclusion: The pattern is ingenious in its simplicity and you bet I’ll use it again (I am curious to see how it looks like made of drapery silk like fabric). The pattern will soon be available in different sizes at Paco’s blog!. Pattern is available for purchase on Etsy, click here.
