EN Summary: Tailoring is definitely my favorite sewing expertise and I believe I achieved a match made in heaven with this wool tweed and the blazer pattern from DP Studio! Keep reading to find out all the details!

EN: The pattern used is DP Studio Le100 (get the printed version here and/or the pdf version here), described as a classic one-button waisted blazer with side panels, flap pockets, double back vents, two-piece sleeves with buttoned vents and original notched collar/lapel design. I've sewn this pattern before in denim (the related blog posts are: "Front and side panels", "Flap pocket step-by-step", "Assembling the back (how to sew the back vents)", "Notched collar and sleeve vents" and "Wearing the blazer").
This time around I cut size 42 without any alterations (when I first purchased this pattern years ago there was a small error that I've corrected; I ended up purchasing the pattern a second time and the error has been corrected).

EN: The fabric used is a high quality medium weight 100% wool tweed, purchased from DP Studio a couple of years ago. It's a houndstooth pattern in yellow, black and grey colors and I am absolutely amazed with how well it behaved along the sewing/pressing process; there was no residual shrinkage at all and it pressed beautifully.

EN: The buttons used were salvaged from an old men's blazer (I am trying to buy less and recycle as much as possible).

EN: It took me a couple of weeks to finish this project (working mainly on weekends) but it was well worth the time invested, in my opinion, and I can't wait to wear the blazer to the office!
Thank you all for reading and supporting my blog! Happy Sewing!
