Description: Loose fit dress with square neckline, short raglan sleeves with bias flounce, bias hem band and in-seam pockets.
Pattern: BurdaStyle 02/2014 model 112; cut size 40 based on my bust measure, but I think I would have gotten away with the 38 because the dress is so loose fitting.

Alterations: I shortened the dress by approximately one and a half inch.
---

The in-seam pockets / Os bolsos metidos nas costuras:
The hem band / A banda da bainha:
As you can see, the wrong side of the fabric is brushed; the fabric is very soft on the wrong side.

Conclusion: If I were to make this dress again, I’d cut size 38 instead of 40; the dress is fine, however it feels too large, so I chose to wear it belted. I can picture a spring version of this dress made up with a lighter weight fabric, so I might tackle this pattern again. Thank you for reading!

Oh Tany I'm so glad that you're back sewing...I've missed your posts! Love this dress and the fabric you used for it...you should definitely make a spring/summer version!
ReplyDeleteBjo!!
Beautiful Tany. I can see you making it in a summer fabric.
ReplyDeleteI like the bias bits of this pattern - very fun!
ReplyDeleteNice dress. The bias flounces and hem are nice touches. Beautifully styled :)
ReplyDeleteI am really glad to see you posting again as well. This is a lovely dress on you. A spring summer version would work well.
ReplyDeleteThis dress looks great the way you are wearing it. Now I have to give it a try for sure. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteVery chic! Love how you styled it with the belt and tights.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress! I saw a similar bouclé at the market today. I'm sorry now that I didn't get any.
ReplyDeleteAdorei o vestido, como sabes. Pena que tenha ficado tão largo. Será que não dá para apertares?

This is so, so pretty. I love the boucle and the style of the dress. Very Chanelesque!!
ReplyDeleteI like this dress & the fabric very much Tany...I was wondering do you have a favorite fabric store or do you order on line?

It's a great dress! You did a fabulous job. So perfect. I really loved that pattern but I am worried about it being too loose for my taste...maybe one day i will try.
ReplyDeleteI love you version! I made the top and I used on size smaller than I usually use with Burda patterns after measuring the pattern across the bust. My top fits well around the bust, but it is a little narrow at the shoulders.
