Fiquem bem e boas costuras!

What about a sneak peek on the completed Badgley Mischka pant suit?
And here are a few detail shots of the pants (sorry for the lousy pictures; I had to take them myself using the tripod and I didn’t have the time to take a few more to be able to pick the best ones,… So these will have to do for now):
The pants turned out quite well, though I must point out that they have a high waist; the waistband sits at the natural waist and not a little lower as some of us might prefer. The top that I’m wearing (better pics later) is BWOF012009 top 106B; I also made the dress version (106A) from a black/dark brown stable knit. Both will be shown together with the other Vanilla&Chocolate items on the final V&C post, which I intend to publish next weekend (I won’t have the time for taking better pictures of the entire collection until then). In the meanwhile here are a few shots of the top on the dressform:
The sleeve cuff detail:
The neckline: I decided to double-topstitch it and trim the facing close to the second row of topstitching; the reason was the slightly see-through knit fabric (yeap, you get that with ivory fabric): I could actually see the wide facing inside and I didn’t like it at all.
This top is very easy and quick to make, I highly recommend it! Happy Sewing everybody!

ReplyDeleteAnd, thank you for visiting my blog.
Beautiful. I love the pants (but you knew that already) and have ordered the pattern. Looking forward to the pictures of the complete set.
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow! What a chic set! The topstiching sets it off so well. Love the big buttons, too. The flutter sleeves on the blouse are so nice! I'm dying to see the final post.
ReplyDeletebtw- I'm having a giveaway of some handmade items on my blog, if you'd like to enter. I'm terribly excited about it. :)
Tany, your outfit looks beautiful on you. The details on the pants and jacket are amazing! I love everything about it, and the top is perfect for this suit :)
ReplyDeleteLove buttons and top-stitching details like in the suite. You look fabulous!
Enfim. Já espreitaste a Burda de Abril? Traz novidades!
Chocolate and Vanilla - deliciously beautiful. Thanks for the peak.
ReplyDeletelove the details and top stitching :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! All the piping and topstitching really make for such a fantastic outfit.
ReplyDeleteTany, it's a beautiful outfit! I love all fo the great detail stitching on the suit. I think the higher waistline is coming back into fashion. Personally, I think that the higher waistline is more flattering on most people. Great design details on the top too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, as always! I love the details and fit on the pants.
ReplyDeleteImpeccable. The detailing on those pants is perfect! The top is adorable. Beautiful work Tany.
ReplyDeleteI made that top too but as a tunic. I like your details.
ReplyDeleteIncredible pants, Tany. The top is very cute, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking suit, Tany! Your contrast piping and topstitching really highlight the wonderful details. Lovely top too!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about you, but I actually like this slightly higher waist. I think it's more flattering than the low-low one and there is no fear of someboday else encountering a 'builders-bum' when forced to bend down :-), lovely details on the trousers and a cute top, btw.
ReplyDeletethe suit looks fantastic tany, the contrast makes the look indeed
ReplyDeleteWonderful suit. I love all the details of the pants. Can't wait to see the whole collection!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's as beautiful as I knew it would be. Love the details you incorporated.
ReplyDeleteAdorei o fato! O detalhe do persponto, dá imensa vida ao trabalho. Sem palavras!!
ReplyDeleteParabéns.
Bjs
Wow, the suit is phenomenal. You belong on the runway!
ReplyDeleteBonjour Tany,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see your tailleur finished. Your pants are so beautiful. The pale piping strikes out beautifully. It was a great choice of level of contrast. This style of jacket is nice on you. I had read one review mentioning that is was a difficult to fit the jacket. You succeed the fitting greatly and this is the least I can say. Or else, the pattern was made for you. Or both... ;-) Your top is very feminine and adds a delicate touch to this suit. So can we see the jacket on you as well ?
Ficou divinal!
ReplyDeleteBjs

Love the detail work on all three pieces. Did you ever find the binder foot for your singer coverstitch machine?
ReplyDeleteVery Haute! I love the piping, topstitching, fit and fabric quality. You go girl!
ReplyDeleteI love it. You have a great eye for details. You're an inspiration to me. :):):)

I will try to take better pictures of the suit this weekend, together with the other V&C elements! Stay tunned!
Tracy: Thanks! No I didn't... I found a general purpose binder foot on eBay but I was afraid it wouldn't fit on my serger... I will keep searching for one :)
I just bought the same serger and I think I'll try the general binder foot on ebay it's only $20. I'll let you know if it works.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy, I appreciate it!
