I've never heard of buttonhole twist. How do you do that? It looks fantastic Tany!!!
ReplyDeleteTany, good work on those bullions!(the official name for that stitch)...they are considered an advanced hand embroderiy stitch and they are very, very challenging!

ReplyDeleteAdrienne: Buttonhole twist is the thread commonly used to make the hand-worked buttonholes! It's a little thicker and shinier than normal thread!
ReplyDeletePhyllis: Thank you! I am happy that I was able to learn this technique. It looks wonderful as an embellishment! But I must tell you, my finger joints are hurting bad!
Ann: Thanks! I used a size 7 milliner needle for making the bullions. These are hard to get perfect on the first attempt, there's a learning curve to be able to make them right. I've just put up a tutorial on making the bullions, the way that works for me.
