The COS "Made By You" women's top

EN: I bought the women's kit size XS/S (it was the only size available; I know that COS sizing run large so I took a risk and the S/XS top ended up fitting me perfectly in the end). There's also a men's version available.

The women's top can be described as loose fitting with extra flare on the back, which includes an elasticated back hem panel/facing and a yoke.  The bateau neckline is edged with a self-fabric bias-cut binding and the wide 3/4 sleeves are rolled up. The side seams are angled towards the front, which is edged by a narrower facing than the back.

 The kit contains a large sheet of paper with the printed pattern, the white cotton fabric (barely enough to cut all pattern pieces, I might add), the elastic to apply on the back hem and the COS label.

Regarding the sewing instructions, there is a video available which is helpful; some sewing detail instructions are missing though, but nothing that can't be figured out. Here's the link to the video:

PT: Comprei o kit feminino no tamanho XS/S (era o único tamanho disponível na altura, mas como sei que os tamanhos da COS são para o grande, arrisquei, e ainda bem porque o top serve-me perfeitamente neste tamanho). Também há um kit top COS Made By You versão masculina.

Este top (versão feminina) pode ser descrito como folgado, com amplitude extra nas costas, que depois têm um encaixe na bainha franzido com um elástico cosido no seu interior e um escapulário. O decote barco é acabado com uma tira em viés do mesmo tecido e as mangas 3/4 são para usar enroladas. As costuras laterais inclinam-se para a frente, que tem uma guarnição na bainha um pouco mais estreita que a das costas.

O kit contém uma folha grande com o molde impresso, o tecido de algodão branco (mesmo à justa para cortar todas as peças, devo acrescentar), o elástico para aplicar por dentro da bainha das costas e a etiqueta da COS.

No que toca às instruções de confeção, existe um video explicativo que é útil, mas peca por falta de detalhe em alguns passos. Têm aqui o link para o vídeo:

EN: I found a useful photo-tutorial for this type of edging (click here). The only difference is that I under-stitched the binding before pressing it to the inside (between steps 6 and 7).

PT: Encontrei um passo-a-passo com fotos para esta técnica de acabamento (cliquem aqui). A única coisa que fiz diferente for fazer o pesponto de girar antes de dobrar o viés para dentro (entre os passos 6 e 7).

CONCLUSION: It was a fun sewing project, adding to the fact that I'm a big fan of the COS aesthetic/design, which is modern, timeless and classic with a twist. Thank you all for reading!
