The back of the crochet dress is finished (minus the crocheted hem that will be done after both front and back are finished and joined as one) and so far I've used tree of the nine skeins ordered from Phildar. Now I can say for sure that nine skeins will be enough to finish this project and I can slow the pace down (summer is still far away…). I wanted to show you my progress so far;for that purpose I pinned the back of the dress to my dressform and took some pictures:
The back of the crochet dress is finished (minus the crocheted hem that will be done after both front and back are finished and joined as one) and so far I've used tree of the nine skeins ordered from Phildar. Here's a close-up from the crochet stitch:
This will be a close fitting dress; the instructions mention a side zipper, or else I wouldn't be able to put it on. I'm thinking of adding some kind of lining to the skirt (not to the crocheted hem, only to the upper skirt) to prevent the stitch from stretching and also to avoid seeing through it.
Até à próxima!
See you next time!

ReplyDeleteThats a sexy dress. I wish I could make one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic dress, Tany!
ReplyDeleteThis is FANTASTIC!!!! You crochet SO FAST! LOL
ReplyDeletetotally cool - and yes, you're right about the lining.
ReplyDeletepersonally, i would add one. or you can make an extra-dress with spaghetti straps to wear underneath. that way you can wash both seperately and maybe wear the "underdress" with a second knit or crocheted dress as well.
Tany,

I really like that dress! You're inspiring me to crochet the top for the D&G dress. Question: is the yarn you used 100% cotton, or does it have some wool in it?
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! Thanks for your comment! The yarn is 100% cotton, suitable for 2.5mm crochet needles (50g -> +/- 185m). I think the top for the D&G dress will be wonderful if you crochet it yourself!
ReplyDeleteHi Tany--thanks!
