It was my first time using the clapper and the wooden block as a "sandwich" and I think the results were pretty good; the old tailor's pressing boards were usually made of solid wood covered with a thick wool cloth, and some say these pressing boards perform the best results because both wool and wood are good heat conductors; and the wood also absorbs the excess moisture.

Paco: Gracias querido amigo!

Elaray: I totally agree; BWOF's instructions are usually quite good once you get them right; and they do assume you have a good amount of sewing experience... I can't imagine why - maybe they assume sewers know to do so. Personally, it is crazy for me to clip into anything that is not staystitched or stabilized in some way.Summersethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00364235843222794829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-10679027394876261512009-01-07T19:20:00.000+00:002009-01-07T19:20:00.000+00:00I was totally confused the first time I tried a BW...I was totally confused the first time I tried a BWOF collar like this. I wish I'd had your tutorial then! Now that I've done it a few times, it makes perfect sense. The techniques in BWOF are usually very good. Tanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01073735708031525696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-13382130667910152422009-01-07T01:57:00.000+00:002009-01-07T01:57:00.000+00:00Tany, As always - wonderful instructions!Collars a...Tany, As always - wonderful instructions!
Collars are one of many important parts of a garment and it seems that most people "inspect" them when looking over a hand made garment.
