Beijinhos TanyAna Carinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04198874751071760094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-1741308637299860472008-05-27T12:57:00.000+01:002008-05-27T12:57:00.000+01:00vai ficar liiiindo de certeeeeza!vai ficar liiiindo de certeeeeza!macatihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02648709216426220228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-67137972723060384312008-05-27T11:19:00.000+01:002008-05-27T11:19:00.000+01:00Dear Tany, I will try to join you guys in a month ...Dear Tany,
I will try to join you guys in a month or so. You can handsew the lining to the zipper tape then (with tiny invisible stitches). This is the easiest way, I believe, but if the skirt is too heavy you may need to add a waist stay and that will make the procedure a little different. If you want to see a dresses with a defined waist seam you can go to Summerset's blog (Pins and Needles - look for it on my sidebar). She has wonderful detailed pictures and tutorials. I also remember posting about a dress with a waisline seam, fully lined for which I made two separate lining/fabric shells and then handsewn the lining to the zipper tape: It's the Galaxy Dress: http://tanysewsandknits.blogspot.com/search/label/Galaxy%20Dress (also available by clicking on the label "Galaxy Dress"). I didn't make a tutorial about this but I have a picture of the dress with the wrong side out. Hope this helps!Tanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01073735708031525696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-7570158004592866142008-05-27T08:32:00.000+01:002008-05-27T08:32:00.000+01:00Tany, thank you so much for that link. I am making a dress for my daughter (McCall 5042)and although the pattern only lines the bodice I want to line the whole dress. What I can't figure out at the moment (the dress has a waistline seam) is whether I join the skirt and it's lining at the waistline and then treat them as one or whether I sew each dress and lining separate and then they are only joined at neckline and armholes. And how I treat the zipper in that case. Do you have a dress in your archives that is fully lined and has a natural waistline seam? I couldn't find it. Thank you.Talyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04873546475481612445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-60116768222165160062008-05-27T08:19:00.000+01:002008-05-27T08:19:00.000+01:00Thank you all!Obrigada Beth! Vc tem que considerar escrever um blog para que possamos admirar seus trabalhos também!

Gracias Paco!

Taly Hi all the way from Serbia! I believe the tutorial you are referring to is this: http://tanysewsandknits.blogspot.com/2007/03/o-fecho-invisvel-invisible-zipper.html . The problem with labeling tthe tutorials is that right now they are so many that this would increase the label size on the side bar so much or, if I labeled them as "tutorials", the search for the one you want would be difficult too because there are so many right now... But I will try to do this (lebel them all as tutorials) when I find the time. In the meanwhile you may want to take a look at this website: http://sewingtutorials.blogspot.com. Sigrid has compiled a great list of sewing tutorials from many websites/blogs and you will find some of my tutorials in there too!Tanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01073735708031525696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-60501447099966250232008-05-27T07:53:00.000+01:002008-05-27T07:53:00.000+01:00Wow to the pattern and all your fabric and notions...Wow to the pattern and all your fabric and notions. I am a self-learned sewer, who is learning mainly from online stuff, since I do not have access to good books where I live. I want to make my sewing better and really appreciate the occasional instructions/tutorials. Problem is they are very hard to find later. Like I remember you had a tutorial on the invisible zipper and lining in one and cannot find it in the archives. I know this is much more work for you, but could you maybe have some additional labels for when you explain a special technique, so it would be easier to find? Thank you.
Natalija in SerbiaTalyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04873546475481612445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-91377104933183962762008-05-27T03:42:00.000+01:002008-05-27T03:42:00.000+01:00Your coat is going to be gorgeous!Your coat is going to be gorgeous!Adriennehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12818182968849661620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-64148523426780929702008-05-27T03:30:00.000+01:002008-05-27T03:30:00.000+01:00Tany, que casaco lindoooooo!
