The answer to your question is, it depends; if I'm not lining the garment, I use a large tapestry needle and thread the tails through some of the serging on the wrong side like you said; if the garment is to be fully lined, which is the case with this dress, I usually don't bother and just cut the tails off. I serged the SAs mainly because this fabric tends to ravel badly and it's easier to handle like this.
To get nice and tidy serger stitches I use the thread colored technique, threading each serger thread with different colors. It makes fine tuning the threads tension much easier! When I'm done I just thread the machine again using the same color on each thread (using the knotting method to pull the threads without having to completely re-thread the serger)
Hugs from Portugal!Tanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01073735708031525696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1707374644461378032.post-70710312205276544322015-06-29T18:32:26.754+01:002015-06-29T18:32:26.754+01:00I've enjoyed following your progress on this d...I've enjoyed following your progress on this dress - beautiful sewing!! I only found your blog recently, and enjoy it very much. I must say - your serging is so neat and tidy! Do you thread the tail ends through some of the serging on the wrong side with a large tapestry needle? Knot and cut of the tail? Not worry about it?
