Projecto em curso e agradecimentos - Current project and many thanks

Do blog Noir Girl, o prémio "One Lovely Blog Award":

Do blog Shoes and Sewing, o prémio "Blogger Buddy Award":

Dos blogs The Diary of L e Ann's Fashion Studio, o prémio "The Attitude of Gratitude Award":

Bom fim-de-semana!

Current Project: Japanese style coat (Patrones n280 mod#5):

I was drawn to this model when I first saw it because of its original style lines. The fabric I’m using is sort of a medium weight cotton twill in green (this shade of green is cold, with a hint of blue into it). The directions call for cotton fabric with some body and I thought this fabric was just right. The original model has only big snaps for the front closure but after considering a few options I decided to also use big buttons. I’m using two types of buttons sewn together as follows (the thread that I'll be using to sew the buttons in will be the same color as the big buttons):

During the last weekend I managed to cut and mark all the pieces and during this week I used every spare time (sometimes less than an hour a day) to sew as much as I could. At this point I have the outer shell almost completed; the next step will be constructing the inner shell (facings plus lining), sew both shells together, apply the sleeve cuffs (which encase both sleeve and lining sleeve) and provide the last finishing details.

I’m also using darker buttonhole twist for contrasting topstitching.

I haven’t been able to update my blog as often as I’d desire and I haven’t been able to read and comment on all the blogs I follow; even so my readers keep cheering me up and supporting me and for that I am most grateful. At least three blogging friends have nominated me for blog awards (forgive me if I missed someone):

From Noir Girl, the “One Lovely Blog Award”:

From Shoes and Sewing, the “Blogger Buddy Award”:

From The Diary of L and Ann's Fashion Studio, the “Attitude of Gratitude Award”

I dedicate these awards to all my readers and friends. As for my Gratitude story I have a few gratitude thoughts that I want to share: I went through many adversities in life: I had to take it all on my own since I was eighteen and I am self-sufficient since then. There are many things that could have gone terribly bad but they didn’t: I am still here, working at the same company since I was 18, I managed to take a degree on Electronics and Telecommunications while I worked full time and therefore evolved a lot in my professional career; I love what I do and I love my life; all I have was due to my hard work and perseverance but I also had luck because, like I said before, there is much that could have gone wrong and it didn’t. For all this I am very grateful!

Have a great weekend, dear friends!
