English (uncheck the other box and check this one)

My “Orange Extravaganza” knitted garment is a pattern by Amanda Berka and can be found online here (free download).

Description: This vest is made in one piece – a rectangle – beginning with the collar and working down to the ribbed bottom border (see diagram in the original model pdf file).

Material: 7 skeins (50g) of Gedifra Riana yarn in orange

Modifications: I added short sleeves, by picking up the stitches around the armhole and knitting on the round (2/2 ribbing) for approximately 3 inches.

Side and back views:

Conclusion: I am very happy with this easy vest, which can be worn not only with both my Orange Extravaganza pants and skirt but also with other color combinations (for example, a few days ago I wore it with black high-waist pants and a black turtleneck for a dinner out). I like the added sleeves; I think they provide this simple piece with a more contemporary look.

More on the Orange Extravaganza set soon!

SewPassionista: You'll have to wait until I have the complete Orange Extravaganza set! I have yet to make two jackets and a blouse and then I will model all these garments for my readers!

Vou ter de me repetir: ADORO!! Ficou lindo!

Oh, I just LOVE it! I wish I were a speeder knitter. I especially love all the different textures and the way the rows meet in a V in the back. Super cute!

SIMPLY AWESOME!!!!

Obrigada a todas!
Thank you all!

Myraida aka Mimi: Hi, the chevron pattern is actually quite easy if you mark the central stitch of your row (middle) - like placing a marker on each side of the central stitch - and then imagine a 5/5 ribbing shifting one stitch towards the middle on each row. It may help if you make a graphic first (for the total number of stitches, I mean). The instructions seem complicated because they are to be applied on rows for the different sizes: the first row starts differently for each size; the pattern repeats itself the same way, though: shifting towards the middle. I followed the instructions exactly and in the end it all came together.

okay, im sorry for sounding so dumb..lol

but it says to start with stitch 7 of chart A then work the 10 stitches, then it says when you get to Chart C to end with the first 4 stitches.

well when I get to row 2 do I start with the stitch 7 and then on chart A do I end with the first 4 stitches of row 2???

Myraida aka Mimi: I tried to explain the reading of the pattern at your blog entry on this subject hoping it will make sense to you. Reading a stitch pattern can be very confusing and it's hard to explain without showing it to you in person
